Grilling for a Cause: Why BBQ Girls is Turning Purple This Season
As the calendar turns to December, our thoughts at BBQ Girls usually drift toward holiday roasts, backyard gatherings, and the crisp winter air around a warm grill. But this year, we’re adding a different color to our traditional holiday palette. Alongside the festive greens and reds, we are standing tall in purple.
December serves as a powerful extension of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness, a time when we reflect on the health of our community and the families affected by one of the toughest battles in oncology.
The Heart Behind the Grill
At End Zone BBQ Kitchens and BBQ Girls, we believe that an outdoor kitchen is more than just steel, cement board, and fire—it’s the heart of the home. It’s where memories are made, stories are shared, and families lean on one another.
When a member of our "grilling family" faces a diagnosis like pancreatic cancer, it impacts us all. This disease often goes undetected until its later stages, making awareness and early detection research absolutely vital.
How We’re Making a Difference
This month, we aren't just selling the best 18-gauge galvanized steel frames and modular islands in Irvine; we’re using our platform to spread a message of hope and resilience.
-
Spreading the Word: We’re sharing resources with our customers about the early warning signs of pancreatic health.
-
Community Strength: A portion of our focus this month is dedicated to supporting the researchers and caregivers who work tirelessly to improve survival rates.
-
A Season of Giving: As we look toward expanding our mission and bringing outdoor cooking to more homes across the country, we remain committed to being a business that gives back.
How You Can Help
You don’t have to be a pitmaster to make an impact. This December, we invite you to:
-
Wear Purple: Show your support for those currently fighting the "World's Toughest Cancer."
-
Educate Yourself: Learn about the risk factors and symptoms at organizations like PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).
-
Grill with Purpose: Host a holiday cookout and consider making a donation to cancer research in honor of a loved one.
A Message from Our President
Our president, Hanna Semenova, and the entire team here at BBQ Girls want to wish you a healthy, safe, and meaningful holiday season. Let’s use these moments around the grill to cherish our health and support those who are fighting for theirs.
From our backyard to yours, let’s grill for a cure.
