This blog post for BBQGirls.com connects the high-quality, durable foundations of your outdoor kitchens with the importance of building a healthy foundation for life. It also subtly highlights the strength of your leadership team.
Built to Last: Why BBQ Girls is Focusing on National Cancer Prevention Month This February
At BBQ Girls, we talk a lot about "the bones." We pride ourselves on the fact that our outdoor kitchen modules are built with heavy-duty, welded 18-gauge G60 galvanized steel and PermaBase Light cement board. We build them that way because a structure is only as good as its foundation.
This February, as we observe National Cancer Prevention Month, we’re applying that same philosophy to our health. Just as you protect your grill from the elements, it’s time to focus on how we can protect ourselves and our families.
A Strong Foundation for Health
Research shows that up to 50% of cancer cases are preventable through healthy lifestyle choices and regular screenings. At End Zone BBQ Kitchens, we believe the backyard is the perfect place to start building those healthy habits.
-
Grill Healthier: Swap out processed meats for lean proteins, fresh vegetables, and seafood. Grilling is one of the best ways to lock in flavor without the need for heavy breading or deep-frying.
-
Stay Active: Whether it’s DIY-ing your own modular island or playing in the yard with the family (and maybe a 140 lb American Bully!), staying active is a key pillar of prevention.
-
Prioritize Screenings: Just like a routine maintenance check on your gas lines, regular medical check-ups and screenings—like the ones our team has prioritized this year—can catch issues before they become problems.
Leading by Example
Our President, Hanna Semenova, leads BBQ Girls with a vision of longevity and quality. That vision extends to our community. This month, we aren't just focused on providing the best outdoor kitchen components in Irvine; we’re focused on the people who use them.
"We want our customers to enjoy their outdoor kitchens for decades," says Hanna. "That means taking care of the 'frame' of our lives—our bodies. Prevention isn't just a medical term; it’s a commitment to being there for the next big family cookout."
How You Can Join the Movement
This February, BBQ Girls invites you to take the Prevention Pledge:
-
Schedule that appointment: Don't put off the screenings you’ve been delaying.
-
Know your history: Understanding your family’s health history is the best blueprint for your own prevention plan.
-
Cook with color: Fill your grill with vibrant peppers, asparagus, and lean meats to fuel your body right.
From Our Family to Yours
From Hanna, Vova, Sofiia, and the entire crew at our Irvine showroom, we wish you a month of health, strength, and great food. Whether you are building a new kitchen or just enjoying the one you have, remember that the most important thing you can protect is your health.
