This blog post for BBQGirls.com takes a more personal, direct tone. It connects the "internal" strength of your modular frames to the importance of internal health, while subtly acknowledging the proactive steps your own team has taken recently.
The Core of the Matter: Why BBQ Girls is Supporting Colorectal Cancer Awareness This March
At BBQ Girls, we talk a lot about what’s on the inside. We tell our customers that while the granite countertops and high-end grills look great, the most important part of an outdoor kitchen is the 18-gauge galvanized steel frame and the PermaBase Light cement board hidden underneath. Without a strong internal structure, the outside eventually fails.
This March, for Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, we’re taking that "inside-out" philosophy to heart.
Why This Hits Home
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States, but here’s the most important part: it is highly preventable and treatable when caught early. At End Zone BBQ Kitchens, we’ve seen firsthand how important it is to be proactive. Whether it’s maintaining our showroom in Irvine or keeping up with our own health screenings—like the routine colonoscopies that many of us (including our own team members) have prioritized recently—taking action early is the ultimate "DIY" project for your life.
Building a "Gut-Healthy" Grill Strategy
Your backyard isn't just a place for burgers and brats; it can be a powerhouse for colorectal health. This March, we’re encouraging our BBQ Girls family to try a "Prevention Prep":
-
Fiber is Your Friend: Load up your grill with high-fiber veggies like artichokes, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. Fiber is essential for a healthy digestive system.
-
Lean Into Longevity: While we love a good steak, balancing your diet with lean proteins like grilled chicken, fish, and plant-based options can reduce long-term risks.
-
The "45" Rule: If you are 45 or older, or have a family history, now is the time to schedule your screening. It’s a simple step that saves lives.
A Message from Hanna and the Team
Our President, Hanna Semenova, is passionate about building a business that supports the well-being of our customers and their families.
"We build our outdoor kitchens to last a lifetime," says Hanna. "But we want our customers to be around to enjoy them. This month, we’re asking our community to prioritize their health. Don't wait for a 'leak' to check the pipes—get screened early."
How BBQ Girls is Getting Involved
Throughout March, look for the Blue Ribbon on our website and social media. We are committed to:
-
Breaking the Stigma: Talking openly about screenings so nobody feels alone in the process.
-
Healthy Living Tips: Sharing our favorite gut-healthy grilling recipes all month long.
-
Supporting Research: Standing with the fighters and survivors in the colorectal cancer community.
